Slushy Hills

It's been more than 3 months since Bart and I have ran any races so we decided to do one this weekend. My cute friend Jess helped us find a fun downhill (yay) 5K. It was cold and snowy and I was slightly afraid for my life as I ran down a slushy hill, but the race ended ( as it always does) and it was fun.

Bart keeps telling me I need to be more competitive and today a little bit of that edge came out. As I was running I heard these dog tags behind me and BAM a lady and her stupid little dog were gaining on me! There was no way in hell I was going to let that duo beat me so I picked up the pace and beat them.

So my bracket was doing okay...before all the games started. Now it's kind of a disaster. An Explorer beating Wildcats? In what world?

Hiccups

So you probably don't know this, but having hiccups after abdominal surgery is pretty painful. Laughing, coughing and sneezing are all painful too, but hiccups suck because you don't really know when they are coming so you can't control them at all...I wasn't going to blog about hiccups, but they started as soon as I pulled up a new post page so.....here I am, blogging about hiccups.

What I really wanted to say tonight was that sometimes I hate technology and wish that it wasn't around. I also hate football season. Yes, you heard me, I hate football season. Shocker I know, and I also know how some of you couldn't imagine your life without football season, but I am not one of those people (And I am sorry if this post doesn't make sense, this hiccups are totally throwing me off). The fact that you can turn on the TV at 8 a.m. and watch football until 9 at night is stupid and I hate it.

I don't hate football because I don't know what's going on, because I do. I understand 90% of the game. I can tell what is going on when I am watching it, but that doesn't mean I enjoy it. I also like watching Utah State play, mostly because I still consider that my school and I have some attachment to it. So yes, I hate football season, but I am also excited for the Homecoming game next weekend, and there is nothing wrong with feeling those two things.

Anyway, that's all I had to say. I am not really tired enough to go to sleep so I figured I would say stuff, but then these damn hiccups showed up and I can't focus on writing anything.

Oh, and I really really really miss sleeping on my tummy...I need that to be a possibility again ASAP.

Sweet Victory

Bart: HAHA BYU is losing at the half

Megan: They are playing New Mexico right?

Bart: Yeah and they are playing awful

Megan: Is it because one of their starters got kicked off for honor code violations?

Bart: Yep

Silence

Megan: Did we just have a full-on, sports-related conversation that I actually contributed to?

Bart: I think so.....

Megan: VICTORY!!!!

Friday Night Lights with Rudy, Rocky, and the Titans.

So last night I somehow got tricked into watching a Football movie AND Bart's highlights from his football years. (He won State his Senior Year and apparently that is a big deal?) Just kidding Bart I had a good time watching you and your blonde curly fro and braces....so cute... :)

Football and/or any sports movie is exactly the same and it is kind of entertaining at this point to watch one because you can already guess what is going to happen.

It starts out with a troubled town, a troubled self centered player, an underdog team and/or a stubborn unorthodox coach who no one believes in. (Stop me if I am wrong). It then goes on to practices where at first the team is really bad because they can't work together as a team because they all have issues with each other. The coach gets frustrated to the point of sometimes almost giving up when something magical happens and all of a sudden the players unite under a better cause and start to play well.

Then of course they start winning games and the attendance to said games increases because the town suddenly believes in these kids again. However, somewhere in the middle of all of this a tragedy happens and the kids start to go back to their old ways. This is usually right before they play an undefeated team that all have super fancy matching jerseys (usually black) and they all look the same and the coach is really tough and no one thinks they can win.

This is usually the part where the coach goes to the main student/athlete and talks about how much he/she reminds them of themselves when they were younger and how they had to overcome the same things and it made them a better person. This of course inspires the player and he/she goes on to inspire the team and that said team goes on to either win the championship by the last few seconds of the game after many mishaps, or lose at the very last game, but if that happens it is okay because they proved to themselves and everyone else what they were capable of.

And they all lived happily ever after.....
